“Oh…okay then.” Deep down, Nattie was a little disappointed that she wouldn’t tell her what was wrong — which was strange since they’ve been friends for almost a decade. But she didn’t ask again or force anything, just rolled over onto her side.
Brie remained quiet for a few minutes, wide awake with a million thoughts running through her head. A short little while later, she let out a frustrated sigh. “It was a silly nightmare about silly fears, but I can’t get it out of my head.”
“No, its okay, you’re fine.” Nattie stretched and moved over on her side of the bed, turning the light on then patting the empty space, motioning for Brie to join. “Sorry to hear you had a bad dream. You wanna talk about it?”
Brie remained quiet for a few moments, chewing on her lower lip in thought before letting out a breath and shaking her head. “Thanks, but no thanks,” she eventually answers, flashes of the nightmare running through her mind.
Nattie had arranged to visit and hang out with the younger Bella since Mania, either texting or calling her every other day, if not, every week. When time was free enough, she spent the night at her home, lying in the bed in the guest room while on her phone. The door opened, resulting in Nattie being a little confused as to why Brie was crawling into the bed next to her. “Hey…something wrong?”
It wasn’t often that Brie wanted company of a friend while in bed, and it certainly wasn’t often that it was because she had had a nightmare, no less. “A bad dream. I’m sorry, I just usually need company after one. And normally, I’d go to Nicole, but,” Brie trails off with a tired shrug, rubbing her face.
“I loved wrestling with you too. How does that saying go: ‘the best of friends make even better opponents’? Something like that. I enjoyed going again you, Nikki, or you both. We could train or wrestle, I could care less.”
“As long as we spend more time together. Between Total Divas, Total Bella’s and you being on the road, I have a feeling it might be next to impossible to keep in contact.”
“You watched some of your matches with me in it? Aww, a tear just escaped my eye, haha! You know I’m always down for a match, I don’t care who it’s against. With you, I would love to!”
“Of course I watched our old matches, Nattie. I absolutely love our old matches and I even love wrestling with you!” And of course, we’ll have to pick a time and a place because I’m not letting this go.”
“Hey, if that’s all you can do, then do it. We all do it, some a lot more than others. It’s good to look at your past self and compare it to your present.”
“I suppose you have a good point. Though, I have to say, some of the matches I watched with you involved were completely bad ass! We should definitely get together in the ring again one day!”
“I can imagine. It’s difficult adjusting to a brand new life. I would be going insane too, watching my matches over and over again so I don’t blame you.”
“I know I shouldn’t be re-watching my old matches, but I guess that’s what happens when I don’t have much to do anymore, even as an ‘ambassador’ to the company.”
