It’d never been uncomfortable. That feeling in his chest, curving up to taunt an intentionally neutral tone. The way fingers grew warm and eyes were left leave to wander where they oughtn’t. Brie with her lackluster tact… with her soft expression he’d long witnessed the edges of. Quick to rile and easily simmered. Which was what he’d a mind to assume this was. The slow saunter and crossed arms, sights carefully skimming the swell of her chest before settling at a collar he caught himself wondering the sensitivity of. Something for another time.

“Lemme guess… y’ noticed it matches my eyes also?” What he’d meant to sound sarcastic had chosen to ring sincere instead. Sincere as an earnest lean nearer, grin losing an aggression he’d not noticed it’d had. There for Daniel or not, she was still there. Within the reach of arms that’d flinched for a want to touch what wasn’t his. See if she’d allow him to, at least.

More assumptions… it was going to be a long day.

Met with congratulation, Dean could feel himself softening further. Could feel the affection bleed into a lingering stare. Could feel the way his guard was lowering in spite of himself. “You gonna be stickin’ around for a bit? Got a few things t’ do but it’d uh… yanno, it’d be nice t’ play catch up. See how the retired life’s been treatin’ ya.” See how her husband has been treating her.

She finds herself quirking her upper lip, cheeks turning red at the thought of Dean’s eyes. “Well, I could say I noticed it but I feel like you already know that,” she responds quietly, tilting her head with a smirk.

She knows she shouldn’t be doing this, knows she has her husband, but Dean’s always made her feel something different and for once, she doesn’t want to question anything, doesn’t want to question this.

“Yeah, I’ll be sticking around for a while,” Brie responds after a few moments of staring at dean, wondering what she could possibly be doing. “I wouldn’t mind catching up.”
